Diary: Restart and Remembrance:

~~I muse about my own lack of making entries, followed by thoughts about human behaviour in the setting of 100 yearly remembrances.~~

What to say or write rather after another absence? I know I do not owe an explanation to anyone, not even myself, but I do wonder what it is that keeps me from writing my regular entries. I have replaced it with reading the Globe and Mail which also takes me for a little walk and some fresh air as I go and get one.

I still remember switching from my customary pencil and paper recordings to these computer based entries.

It could be that I have become bored with making my entries having started back in May 2009! But, I do want to reach May 2019, just to reach my second lustrum in making such entries. I still remember switching from my customary pencil and paper recordings to these computer based entries. Now I have over nine years of those, be it with other stretches without making any entries, such as summer breaks. That break I did not choose myself this year and maybe it kind of became bestowed on me!

Consciousness drifts when we don’t heed the course setting of our ethical compass …

Last Sunday was the 100th Remembrance day of the end to World War 1. Reading about it again and now more so than other years, it has become a warning to me that we humans can go way off track with our convictions, believes and values even. Consciousness drifts when we don’t heed the course setting of our ethical compass and crawl into the shell of self justification and self affirming ideologies.

The onset and motivations for the Second World War were entirely different, but were rooted in those of WW-1 all the same. Humanity can do terrible things to itself and we must never loose sight of such possibilities when making our unavoidable choices, as evil often lurks behind the choice ‘good’.

Writings: Postponed writing and last talk marker:

~~2018-11-20; 9:49am, Tuesday.: Marking the end of my talks on humanity’s religions with my talk titled “World Belief Destiny”~~

2018-11-20; 9:49am, Tuesday.
Last Sunday I presented my talk titled “World Belief Destiny” for the Calgary Life Enrichment Centre [CLEC] . It was the last talk in the series of four World Belief talks for this year.

So, I closed of a long process last Sunday without realising this initially; I was just going to have another talk.

However it also became the last talk in my rubric of talks on the phenomenon of ‘religion’ that I began in 2004. At that time there was no fore thought or intention of the 48 talks that were to follow. So, I closed of a long process last Sunday without realising this initially; I was just going to have another talk. On the significance of this sense of having completed this long process I will write some in the daily entries to come.
